“Kriste is truly passionate about Freedom Credit Union and does her best to make sure our name and brand are well-known throughout the county,” Freedom Credit Union President Glenn Welch said in a press release. “There is no doubt she will be successful in further developing a sense of teamwork, continuity and consistency among the Greenfield and Turners Falls branches and the members they serve.”
Joy started her career at Four Rivers Federal Credit Union in 2003 and became part of the Freedom Credit Union family through a merger in October 2005, the release states. A short time later, she assumed responsibility for managing the former Four Rivers branch offices in Turners Falls and South Deerfield, doing so until the South Deerfield location closed and a new, full-service branch opened in Greenfield in 2009.
“I love my community here in Franklin County and am excited to be able to continue to help my neighbors through my work at Freedom,” Joy said in the release. “With our cooperative spirit, we have a big impact on the lives of our local members, businesses and community.”
Over the years, Joy has developed active relationships with local schools and formed several partnerships for financial literacy and school banking programs, as well as strong ties with local businesses and members, the release states. She also holds active roles in many local non-profits including DIAL/SELF Youth and Community Services, the Greenfield Education Foundation, the Greenfield Business Association and Franklin County’s YMCA.
Accounting firm names new principal
The Melanson accounting firm, which has a branch in Greenfield, has named Duy Nguyen its newest principal.
Nguyen works in the Commercial Tax Department at Melanson and has been with the firm since 2014. According to a Melanson press release, he is a certified public accountant licensed in New Hampshire and practices out of the firm’s Merrimack office.
Since joining Melanson, Nguyen’s focus has been on foreign taxation, multi-state taxation and venture capital taxation. His previous experience includes managing tax departments for multi-national corporations.
“We are proud to announce Duy’s promotion to principal,” fellow Principal Lori Liberty said in the release. “His strong work ethic and exceptional technical skills benefit both the firm and our clients. Personally, I am excited to see what Duy will contribute to the future of the firm.”
Melanson names chief financial officer
The Melanson accounting firm, which has a branch in Greenfield, has promoted Christopher Hill to chief financial officer.
Hill has been the firm’s controller since 2013, according to a Melanson press release. Since joining Melanson, he has managed the firm’s accounting and budgeting, facilities, administrative staff, licensing and compliance, software systems and other special projects.
