Dog Days of Summer event returns Aug. 8

The Pupologie Cardiff Dog Days of Summer, presented by Cardiff 101 Main Street and the city of Encinitas, returns from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 8 at Encinitas Community Park, 425 Santa Fe Drive, Cardiff. This free one-day event for dogs and dog lovers features vendors and a maker’s market, rescue groups and pet adoption agencies hosted by Rancho Coastal Humane Society, contests, live music, and an agility course by Kamp Kanine. Event sponsors include Pupologie and Veterinary Specialty Hospital. The Libation Lounge features The Lost Abbey, Ashland Hard Seltzer and Juneshine. The first 20 people to buy three drink tickets will receive a Swag Bag filled with goodies from vendors. “Rescue Row” will feature rescue groups presented by Rancho Coastal Humane Society. The city of Encinitas “Pet Health Expo” will offer microchipping, thanks to San Diego Humane Society. Contests include Cutest Puppy, Best Looking Dog (small, medium, large), Best Trick and Silver Faces. Register at 9 a.m. on event day for $10 cash per entry. North chamber seeking 20 to 25 ambassadors

The North San Diego Business Chamber is recruiting ambassadors to share their adventures, photos and videos of great places to experience in North County. The chamber is seeking 20 to 25 adventurous ambassadors who have visited or will visit hiking and bike trails, campgrounds, golf courses, resorts/hotels, casinos, breweries, wineries, theme parks, spas and other North County tourist locations (any destination north of Interstate 8). Career centers reopening in county

The San Diego Workforce Partnership has reopened several of its career centers for in-person services. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, by walk-in or appointment, with health and safety measures in place. Those centers include the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Workforce Development Center, 330 Park Blvd., Room 555, San Diego. Centers that are providing services virtually and in person by appointment only include the North County Inland Career Center, 649 W. Mission Ave., Room 2400, Escondido, and the North County Coastal Career Center, 3708 Ocean Ranch Blvd., Oceanside. All locations offer free career and training assistance, which includes: job search assistance, career coaching, résumé preparation, mock interviews and career workshops. Stater Bros. holds ‘Local Fare’ forum

Stater Bros. Markets has created a “Local Fare” forum to offer more opportunities for local brands to reach new customers and gain the attention of a regional retailer. The Local Fare is taking place through Friday on the online product discovery and sourcing platform RangeMe. Stater Bros. Category Managers are seeking offerings in all categories, including a focus on attributes important to their shoppers: organic, non-GMO, plant-based, gluten-free, vegan and keto. Supplier submissions through RangeMe will be reviewed by the Stater Bros. Category Management team. Items chosen will be given free placement. Health fair set for Aug. 12 at plaza

The Oceanside Chamber of Comerce is holding its annual North County Health and Wellness Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 12 at Civic Center Plaza, 300 N. Coast Highway. This free event lets local and regional health-related businesses showcase their products and services and reach a new audience of potential patients, clients and customers. Attendees can meet new health specialists, take advantage of free screenings and learn more about healthy living and well-being. The Health Fair will run concurrently with the Downtown Farmers Market. This event is presented by Tri-City Medical Center and sponsored by Kaiser Permanente, SDG&E, HHJ Trial Attorneys and Frontwave Credit Union. Exhibit space is still available.
